All Creatures Great and Small – October 3-31, 2026
ELK GROVE, C.A. – September 1, 2026 – The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center will present All Creatures Great and Small, an annual art competition that celebrates the animal kingdom. The exhibition opens with a First Saturday Public Reception on October 3 from 4 to 7 p.m., with an awards presentation at 5:30 p.m.
“Animals that fly, crawl, walk or swim are all around us, and our artists love to share these moments in nature every year in our fall art competition,” said Heath Buckmaster of the Center. “This show is about capturing the essence of the animal in an expressive way and in all mediums. That means you’ll see sculptures, paintings, mixed-media and more in recognizable animal shapes. Awards will be given out during our monthly First Saturday reception and we hope to see everyone there.”
The First Saturday reception is free and open to the public. Guests will enjoy refreshments, live music, and an opportunity to meet many of the featured artists exhibiting work at the Center.
