BIG ART AND VELMA DAVIDSON – AUGUST 3-29, 2024
Elk Grove, July 1, 2024 – The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center will present BIG Art at EGFAC, an annual competition show, and The Joy of Landscapes by Velma Davidson in the Featured Gallery, August 3-29, 2024. The exhibitions will open with a First Saturday Public Reception on August 3, 2024 from 4-7PM.
Returning for a third year at the Center, BIG Art at EGFAC fills the walls of the main gallery with oversized landscapes, still life, and figurative paintings. Artists are asked to stretch themselves and their canvases to create work suitable as statement pieces on large walls in homes, offices, and major collections.
In the Featured Gallery, Velma Davidson presents The Joy of Landscapes: Color for Every Season, a body of work that reflects the natural beauty that surrounds us and celebrates life. “When I am immersed in nature, it fills my soul with joy and inspires me to share that experience with others through my art. Cerulean blue skies, stormy skies, rolling hills, flat lands, flowing rivers, still ponds, sun-drenched earth, and colorful shadows: these are my muses.“

About the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center
Established as a nonprofit arts organization on November 29, 2007, the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center is a place for local artists to share their work and for the community to experience the visual arts through classes and special events. The Center presents monthly fine art exhibitions, regional art competitions, a gift shop featuring functional art and jewelry, First Saturday public art receptions, adult workshops in a variety of art mediums, and the annual Elk Grove Festival of the Arts.
The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center is at 9020 Elk Grove Boulevard Suite 101 in Elk Grove and is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11AM-5PM, Sundays 11AM-4PM, and First Saturday Public Receptions monthly from 4-7PM. We are proud members of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and Old Town Elk Grove Foundation.
