FIRED ART AND CAITI CHAN – JULY 6-25, 2024
Elk Grove, June 1, 2024 – The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center will present Fired Art, an annual competition show, and Caiti Chan in the Featured Gallery, July 6-25, 2024. The exhibitions will open with a First Saturday Public Reception and Fired Art Awards Presentation on July 6, 2024 from 4-7PM.
Many artists create art using a flame or heat. Some of this art takes the form of ceramics and sculpture that bathe in fire to create shapes and glazes. Other artwork uses elements of heat to melt the wax of encaustics. This exhibition celebrates artists who use primal forces to create unique artwork in all mediums.
In the Featured Gallery, Caiti Chan presents A Way Forward, a body of work that reflects the joys and struggles in the past five years of her life. She builds on grief and hope through a process of pouring and layering paint to create unique reactions on the canvas.

About the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center
Established as a nonprofit arts organization on November 29, 2007, the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center is a place for local artists to share their work and for the community to experience the visual arts through classes and special events. The Center presents monthly fine art exhibitions, regional art competitions, a gift shop featuring functional art and jewelry, First Saturday public art receptions, adult workshops in a variety of art mediums, and the annual Elk Grove Festival of the Arts.
The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center is at 9020 Elk Grove Boulevard Suite 101 in Elk Grove and is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11AM-5PM, Sundays 11AM-4PM, and First Saturday Public Receptions monthly from 4-7PM. We are proud members of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and Old Town Elk Grove Foundation.
