Karoline Burrall Li is an artist, archivist, and parent from Elk Grove, California with a history in printmaking and fiber arts. Born in Sacramento and raised in Elk Grove, she has been practiced by all her life. When she wrote this bio, her husband asked, ‘Practicing what?’ And she said, ‘Exactly!’ She has a BA in History of Art and Visual Culture from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. After years in the Midwest, she has settled with her family back in her hometown.

Now primarily a printmaker, her work is inspired by moments of wonder, and how our choices and intentions shape how we fill our lives against the backdrop of ever-advancing time and expanding space. No two print pulls are the same, and the sometimes unpredictable nature of the process can lead to unexpected and wonderful results.
