I have been painting and drawing in various mediums since 1987. I have dabbled in many other mediums, but have found that acrylic is my preferred medium.Â
I was introduced to local artists, Wayne Thiebaud and Gregory Kondos, at a young age. Drawn by the colors used in their pieces, I have developed my own style using color in my artwork inspired by these iconic artists.Â
In spring of 2021, I completed all of the requirements to earn an Associates of Arts degree in Fine Arts from the Los Rios Community College District.Â
Throughout my years as an artist, I have found that I must create from the heart whether it be painting, crafting, or writing. I want my artwork to touch people’s hearts with subject matters that touch my heart. In the past several years, I have donated my artwork to the Crocker Art Gallery and the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center for fundraising events, as well as participate in local competitions. I have also done commissioned artwork for private collections. Recently, I collaborated with artisan, Irene Toan, by painting on canvas she then uses to sew coin purses, tote bags, and a crossbody bag.
