As a native Californian, Dee cherishes the many topographies of the state. She loves drives to the coast, the mountains, the delta, the fertile orchards and vineyards of the area. Nature reminds her of the grandeur and hope of God.
Dee’s primary style is non-objective art. Why? She wants her art to explore freedom of movement and resistance to rigidity as a counterbalance to her previous career as a court reporter. The impact of nature, a recently read book and the response to music playing in the studio brings her painting to life. Texture, color and layering techniques develop her paintings, particularly as acrylics dance across the textures.
Her volunteer work has included being Past President of Elk Grove Artists, past board member of WASH Sacramento Fine Art Center and juried into past KVIE Art Auctions.
