Mixed Media 2-Day Workshop with Andrea Morris

About the Workshop: There is nothing more exciting and challenging than creating art with a mix of different medias. Your imagination and fearless experimentation can lead to fascinating results. Come and play with multiple techniques in making a mixed media painting. We will be making our own stencils and then creating our unique personal collage papers. We will use various methods to create texture on our canvases. Using inks, acrylics, and pastels to create a painting, you will develop unique brush techniques and learn various methods of incorporating paint and collage pieces on your canvas.
All materials and supplies are included. Please bring an APRON.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:Â In her decades-spanning practice, Andrea Morris has explored wildlife and the human form through different materials and mediums. Self-taught, Andrea began painting as a means of dealing with the complexities of life in an ever changing social atmosphere. In her early work she created drawings of horses and familiar animals and later studied portrait works. Andrea later experimented with abstraction and assemblage in an attempt to free herself from the traditional genre. She returned to making paintings and watercolors in 2000. Andrea has developed the use of strong patterns and colors to represent the subjects in her compositions and uses the diverse objects to represent thoughts and emotions to tell the story behind the painting.
