Culture Doll Making with Sheila Mun Jacobs

Friday, August 5, 2022 from 1-4PM at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center
This is an intergenerational family workshop. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable for children 5 years and older. Maximum of two children per family group.

FEES: $15/person (please purchase a ticket for everyone in your family who will attend)

Class Description

You will be designing and constructing a Cultural Doll from a bottle.  Cultural perspective of clothing and its diversity and varied purposes will be talked about. Examples of dolls will be shown and simple steps demonstrated to begin building your own doll. Not only will you be designing and constructing, but problem solving along the way – which is fun and creative.

**Please come prepared with a photo image or a sketch for making your Cultural Doll. If you have specific items you would like to use for your doll, please bring it with you.

Instructor will supply all materials.

About the Instructor

I have recently retired from teaching art for 30 years. I live in Sacramento and I’m active in art making and in my community: Having art shows, facilitating artist retreats, giving workshops and demonstrations and judging shows. I have illustrated a few children’s books and in publications including “American River Review.”
