About the Artist
For over two years I have been creating on location, a body of work using brush, pencil and paint, one of Elk Grove’s finest treasures… The parkway that skirts Laguna Creek to the east of SR 99. A vast array of flora and fauna await outdoor enthusiasts of all forms. The creek runs year round in the area, where many species of migrating waterfowl stop by as well as score of indigenous songbirds. Fishing birds, reptiles and many mammals have kept up residence in the beautiful parkway, where they are easily spotted in this rich natural environment.
Throughout the seasons there is one guarantee whether treading by foot or cycling its paths –you‘ll always see something new! I hope you enjoy the landscapes I captured while painting en plein air (outdoors on location) with watermedia paints such as transparent watercolor, acrylic and gouache. Painting the seasons’ changes as a well as the beloved wooden railroad trestle presented a beautiful blend of natural and man-made subjects. Whether the trail is new to you or an old favorite, maybe I’ll see you out there some time so stop and say hello.
